The Insert command inserts a splice enclosure between two fiber sheaths while maintaining all fiber connectivity after a break point in the sheath has been defined with the Break command.

Break Span

1. Select the Break Command from the Modify/Delete section to open the Break Span dialog:

   

2. Select the Span by clicking on the sheath and a Break will be placed in the Span.

   

Insert a Splice Enclosure

1. Select the Insert drop-down from the Placement section of the Fiber Tab:

   

2. Select a span on both sides of the insertion point.
3. Select a facility to place the new device on or within if using the Link to Strand setting.
4. The Select Equipment - Splice Enclosure dialog box opens.

   

5. Select a splice enclosure model and click OK to proceed.
6. The splice enclosure is automatically inserted between the two sheaths.
7. Enter the splice name and place it on the map.
